The following specifications are provided as a guideline for running RedAnt effectively. Actual requirements may vary depending on database size, number of users, and other applications running on the system.

Single User

Minimum Specification

• Windows 10 Professional or Windows 11 Professional
• 12 GB RAM
• 20 GB free disk space

Recommended Specification

• Windows 11 Professional
• 16 GB RAM
• 20 GB free disk space

Multi-User (Peer-to-Peer Network)

In a peer-to-peer environment, one PC hosts the database while other workstations connect to it over the network.

Database PC - Minimum Specification

• Windows 10 Professional or Windows 11 Professional
• 16 GB RAM
• 50 GB free disk space

Database PC - Recommended Specification

• Windows 11 Professional
• 16 GB RAM
• 50 GB free disk space

Workstations

Workstations should meet the Single User specifications listed above.

Multi-User (Server-Based)

In a server-based environment, the RedAnt database is hosted on a dedicated server running Microsoft SQL Server.

Server - Minimum Specification

• Microsoft Server 2016 or later
• Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Standard or Express Edition, or later
• 16 GB RAM
• 50 GB free disk space

Server - Recommended Specification

• Microsoft Server 2022
• Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard or Express Edition
• 32 GB RAM
• 100 GB free disk space

Workstations

Workstations should meet the Single User specifications listed above.

Notes

• The recommended specifications are intended to provide the best user experience and allow for future growth.
• Additional RAM and storage may be beneficial for larger databases or environments with multiple concurrent users.
• SQL Server Express may be suitable for smaller installations, while SQL Server Standard is generally recommended for larger or more demanding deployments.
