Where a finished product consists of one or more sub-components or drawings, the Assembly feature in RedAnt can be used to structure and manage these relationships.

Assemblies are created and maintained within the Register Module, as outlined below.

1. Accessing the Register Module

1. From the Main Menu, select Register.
   • This module contains the master list of all parts and drawings used in quotations and orders.
   • The most recently created record will be displayed by default.

2. Creating Parts (Top-Level and Sub-Parts)

1. Click New from the bottom menu to create a new part.

2. Enter the following mandatory fields:

   • Drawing Number
   • Issue Number
   • Description
   • Stock ID

3. After entering the drawing and issue numbers, click into the Stock ID field.

   • RedAnt will automatically generate a Stock ID based on the values entered.

4. Click Save.

   • A prompt may appear requesting confirmation of the Stock Group and Type. Select OK, then click Save again.

5. (Optional) Enter a Customer ID to streamline future order entry.

6. Add process, material, and subcontract plans as required.

3. Defining the Top-Level Assembly Item

If the part represents the final product delivered to the customer:

1. Click Edit.
2. Tick the Assembly checkbox.
3. Click Save.

✅ Important:
Only the top-level part should be marked as an assembly. Do not select this option for sub-components.

4. Creating Sub-Parts

• Repeat the steps in Section 2 to create all required sub-parts.
• Do not mark these items as assemblies.

5. Building the Assembly Structure

1. Locate the top-level part (use the Previous button if needed).

2. Click the Assembly icon next to the Assembly field.

   • A message will appear indicating that no assembly structure exists.
   • Click OK to create a new structure.

3. In the assembly window:

   • The top-level item will appear at the top of the structure.
   • Select it to highlight.

4. Click Add Component and:

   • Enter the drawing number of a sub-part
   • Specify the quantity required per top-level item
   • Click Save

5. Repeat this process until all sub-parts have been added.

6. Close the assembly window when complete.

6. Creating a Job Order for an Assembly

1. Open the Job Orders module from the Main Menu.

2. Click New and confirm creation of a new order.

3. Enter all relevant order details, including:

   • Customer information
   • Quantity
   • Order number
   • Delivery date

4. Click Save.

7. Generating Jobs for Sub-Components

If the selected item is a top-level assembly:

1. A prompt will appear asking whether to create jobs for sub-components.
2. Leave the first option selected and untick any additional options if required.
3. Click OK.

RedAnt will automatically generate jobs for all sub-components defined in the assembly structure.

8. Reviewing and Processing Jobs

1. Select the View Order tab to:

   • Confirm all generated jobs
   • Review the top-level and sub-component structure

2. Proceed with standard job processing:

   • Complete contract review requirements
   • Activate the job
   • Print job cards
