Copying Live Data to the Play System

If you want to test changes or try out new processes in RedAnt without affecting your live data, you can create a copy of your live database in the Play System. This provides a snapshot of your live data that can be used safely for testing and training purposes.

Before You Start

Ensure that a Backup Folder has been configured:

  1. Navigate to Maintenance > Setup > Defaults > Application.
  2. Verify that the Backup Folder field is populated with a valid location.

Copy Live Data to the Play System

  1. Log in to your live RedAnt system.

  2. From the Main Menu, navigate to:

Maintenance > System > Copy Data to Play System

  3. Start the copy process and wait for it to complete.

Accessing the Play System

Once the copy process has finished:

  1. Log out of RedAnt.
  2. Return to the login screen.
  3. Use the Company drop-down list to select the Play System.
  4. Log in as normal.

You can now work with a copy of your live data in the Play System without affecting your live environment.
